Søren Kierkegaard (f. København 1813, d. 1855) Søren Kierkegaard: Complete set of Søren Kierkegaard first editions. In various bindings, some in original blue wrappers. (38). Complete collection of Kierkegaard first editions, including the rare Sexten Opbyggelige Taler. Cph: P.G. Philipsens Forlag 1843–45. Øieblikket nr. 1–9 unbound, with top corner of title page missing. Otherwise intact. Housed in simple cardboard slipcase. Stadier på Livets Vej in original blue wrappers. Housed in blue slipcase. Begrebet Angest in original blue wrappers. Forord in original blue wrappers, spine repaired and housed in half blue oasis bookbox, by Campbell-Logan bookbindery. Philosophiske smuler in original wrappers, housed in box. A few volumes bound by Anker Kyster eftf. as well as Harry Larsen. (38). Enclosed: Bladartikler. 1857. Provenance: Private collection of Howard and Edna Hong, prominent translators of Kierkegaard and founders of the renowned Hong Kierkegaard Library at St. Olaf College, Minnesota. “Sexten opbyggelige Taler” was published in 1852 and is considered the rarest of Kierkegaard's works. According to research from the Danish Søren Kierkegaard Research Center only a total of 83 copies of this book were published.
